Extend Spline - FREE script - One Click Tools
==================================================
Extend or shorten the open ends of a spline along their tangent
direction, from a small floating panel.

--------------------------------------------------
 HOW TO RUN
--------------------------------------------------
  - Drag "ExtendSpline_free.ms" into a 3ds Max viewport,
OR Scripting menu > Run Script... and pick the file.
A panel "Extend Spline - One Click Tools" opens.

--------------------------------------------------
 HOW TO USE
--------------------------------------------------
  1. Select a spline, click "Attach selection".
  2. Drag "Distance": + extends the ends - shortens them.
Toggle "Start point" / "End point" to pick which end(s).
  3. "Detach / Reset" puts it back and releases the spline.

Works on any 3ds Max version. Parametric shapes (Arc, Circle...)
  are auto-converted to editable splines.

 WANT THE FULL MODIFIER?
--------------------------------------------------
The script is handy, but the real deal is the MODIFIER:
    - lives in the stack: non-destructive & re-editable
    - negative = TRUE trim that FOLLOWS the curve (no corner cutting)
    - animatable distance
    - respects sub-object selection (Spline Select below)
    - assigns a material ID to the created segment
    - auto edit-spline conversion
